Investing in the local community
New City Vision is committed to listening and liaising closely with the community. Finding real jobs for people is high on our list of priorities. The first phase of our Drumchapel development saw us recruiting fourteen apprentices from three nearby postcodes and in Renton, half of our site workers lived locally.
We are fully dedicated to investment which will provide a boost for the local economy. Preferential treatment is given to local companies when we are looking for supplies for each of our developments. In Renton, this has meant the injection of a staggering four million pounds into the local economy.
Public art plays an important part in our regeneration activities. In Drumchapel we promoted several arts projects which enchanced the skills of young people. We also helped to stage plays and musicals, as well as publishing a book based on the recollections of a group of Drumchapel's older residents.
New City Vision worked together with the local schools to provide awareness about the construction industry, focusing on potential employment opportunities. Furthermore, we are proud to have provided significant support to local events which can be fantastic for uniting the community as a whole.
